Coach Profiles

Dana Ellcock
Head Coach

Dana attended CRLS from 1979-1982 where he started his varsity career in baseball as a freshman and in basketball as a sophomore. He was fortunate enough to be on the 80-81’ undefeated State Championship team. After his junior year he took advantage of an academic scholarship (from the Harvard Upward Bound Program) and attended Avon Old Farms Prep School, located in Avon, Connecticut. Between CRLS and Avon he played with or against the likes of some great athletes like Patrick Ewing (NY Knicks), Mo Vaugh (Boston Red Sox), Vinnie Del Negro (San Antonio Spurs), and Juan Nieves (Milwaukie Brewers).

After Avon, Dana went to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticutt. where he pursued a degree and played baseball all four years. As part of the Class of 1984, he had a major in Sociology and a minor in African-American Studies. He presently works with 5th and 6th graders at the Tobin School in Cambridge where he has been gainfully employed for 14 years. He also coaches 7th and 8th grade boys and girls in volleyball and basketball at the Tobin. His biggest rivalry is any team that his good friend and assistant coach, Dan Fusco, leads into battle.

Dana greatly appreciates the opportunity to take the helm of the Lady Falcons’ Basketball Program. In his 2nd season, Dana wants to improve on the developments, success and growth from last year. He looks forward to coming to the gym each and every day. He has an abundance of confidence in this year’s team and admits the future of the program looks bright as well.

Dan Fusco
JV Coach

Dan grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York and played for John Jay High School. Dan graduated from Boston University in 2001 and is currently Phys. Ed. teacher with the Cambridge Public Schools.

Dan is involved in nearly every level of basketball in Cambridge. He spent six years as the CRLS freshman coach and is entering his second year as the JV coach. Dan has coached boys and girls summer league teams during each of those summers. Also, Dan has taken six of his middle school teams to the city championship in seven years. Coach Fusco's committment to the girls basketball program has been tremendous. According to Coach Ellcock, "Dan is the only individual that has ever come close to displaying the level of passion and committment for girls’ basketball that I share."

Erin Leggett
Assistant Coach

Erin Leggett has been around the game of basketball most of her life.  She played varsity ball at Southington High School in Connecticut.  Since graduating from Clemson University in 2000 Erin has participated in women's leagues and has coached youth and summer leagues.  With a father and a brother that also coach high school basketball, coaching seems to be in her blood.

She served as an assistant at a fellow GBL league school for 2 years, prior to joining the Lady Falcon's staff last season.  Erin is a math teacher at CRLS and appreciates the opportunity to develope relationships with students outside of the classroom.  Erin believes high school basketball is an important experience that you take with you beyond high school-lessons about teamwork, dedication and hardwork are ones that the girls will use not only on the court, but off the court and beyond as well.
