After School Homework Centers
Each small learning community offers an after-school center where students can drop-in to get help with homework, study for tests, explore subject areas in more depth, or just find a quiet place to study. Contact your Learning Community office for days, times and locations.

TERI College Access
TERI will assist students with essay writing, scholarship searches, filling out and filing the FAFSA, Profile as well as any other admission and financial aid applications.

CSV Tutoring Center
Individual academic tutors are available without charge from the Tutoring Center for students who need focused and/or long-term academic support. Tutors are adult volunteers, retirees, and local college students. (Visit the Cambridge School Volunteers web site for more information).

  • 7:30-8:05am Monday through Friday
  • Twice a week with your own tutor:
    • before school (7:30 – 8:05am)
    • after school Monday through Friday for 1 hour
  • During the day in Academic Support Classes any period of the school day. This must be put into your schedule by your guidance counselor

AHORA
Bilingual/multicultural youth program available to Latino and interested youth through academic, social, and cultural support.

AMISTAD
After-school program available to students; offers tutorial plus, test taking strategies, planning and MCAS Prep.

MCAS Tutoring Center
Provides tutoring for Juniors and Seniors who need MCAS support. Tutoring available to Sophomores in the spring pending availability. Students must sign-up in advance.

Harvard Chance
(www.hcs.harvard.edu/~chance)
Harvard students provide off-campus tutoring in the following areas: general studies, SAT and TOEFL prep courses, problem solving, writing workshops, college advising and essay help. Students may sign up through their guidance counselor.

MIT/Wellesley Upward Bound
This is a year-round federally sponsored, college preparatory program serving high school students from low-income backgrounds. The program stresses academic skills and motivation. The following services are offered: academic tutoring, SAT & MCAS Prep, college advising and field trips. Students should see their guidance counselor for applications.

MIT's SAT Preparation Program
MIT's SAT Preparation (SAT Prep) program provides instruction in test-taking strategies and in the material covered by the NEW SAT I, focusing on Math, Verbal, and Writing skills. SAT Prep is open to all students grades 9-12. Classes are taught by undergraduate and graduate MIT students.

SAT Prep takes place on Sundays from 1:30 - 5:00 pm in the main buildings of MIT's campus at 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA. Registration for the Fall 2007 program will occur in September.
