A field trip to the Hi Rise Bakery provided enriching experience for the chldren. The visit gave them a common experience which they could use as a basis for discussion and a construct for further knowledge about factories. This local bakery makes all of its own breads and pastries. The children watched bread come out of the oven, and then talked to the baker, Alan, as they munched on warm rolls.
